The plain-English version: This is a fake SaaS website. We do not sell subscriptions, process payments, create accounts, or need your entire life story. We may receive information you voluntarily email us and, only with consent, basic analytics about site visits.
1. Who is responsible for this delightful administrative burden?
This website is operated by As A Service, LLC, the organization proudly committed to “Operationalizing bad ideas at scale.” Questions about privacy may be sent to privacy@asaservice.app. Questions about preventable urgency may be sent to panicbutton@asaservice.app.
2. Information we may collect
We may collect the following limited categories of information:
- Messages you send us: your email address, message content, and any information you decide to attach to the situation.
- Basic technical data: browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP address, pages viewed, referral source, and interaction events.
- Cookie preferences: your choice to accept or reject analytics cookies, so we do not ask you every seven seconds like a nervous stakeholder.
3. Cookies and Google Analytics
Necessary local storage is used to remember your cookie choice. Google Analytics, using measurement ID G-MEC5K6HHHV, loads only after you consent to analytics cookies. Analytics helps us understand broad traffic patterns, such as which page visitors viewed and whether anyone bravely pressed the fake panic button.
You can reject analytics from the cookie banner or reopen Cookie Settings in the footer at any time. Rejecting analytics does not reduce site functionality, comedy density, or the proximity of your real deadlines.
4. Why we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To understand aggregate site usage after consent.
- To detect abuse, technical problems, or unusually aggressive clicking.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process information based on consent for analytics, legitimate interests for basic security and operation, and steps you request when you contact us. We do not claim “vibes” as a legal basis, despite extensive internal lobbying.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Limited information may be processed by service providers that help host or measure the site, including our web host and Google Analytics when enabled. We may also disclose information when legally required, or when necessary to protect the site from fraud, abuse, or a bot army attempting to purchase the Enterprise Consequence plan.
7. Data retention
Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Contact messages may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. After that, the data is deleted or anonymized instead of being renamed archive_FINAL_keep2.zip.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To exercise a privacy right, email privacy@asaservice.app. We may need to verify your request, but we will not ask you to identify every traffic light in a blurry grid unless civilization has truly collapsed.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for those transfers. The data may travel farther than your project plan ever did.
10. Children’s privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. It is directed primarily at adults who have just remembered something due tomorrow.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. No internet transmission is perfectly secure, so please do not email passwords, financial data, government identification numbers, classified documents, or the one surviving copy of the final brochure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site, law, or number of compliance goblets changes. The effective date at the top will be revised. Material changes will not be hidden inside a 74-page PDF labeled “minor updates.”
